Subway Escapes Lawsuit Over Unwanted Texts Offering Free Chips

Subway dodged a proposed class action brought by a consumer who received unwanted text messages offering her a free bag of potato chips, after a federal judge in Connecticut ruled that the customer failed to allege the texts were sent using an automatic dialing system.

Marina Soliman claimed that even though she replied “STOP” to unsubscribe to texts advertising Subway promotions, she still received another text message from the sandwich chain a few days later.
