States Hint at Growing Privacy Fines, Imminent AI Enforcement

State privacy regulators are putting companies on alert for growing fines, behind-the-curtain investigations, and looming AI-related enforcement actions.

Enforcers from Indiana, California, Delaware, and Connecticut—all part of a consortium of states working together to investigate privacy violations—warned companies they’ve been “very busy” with investigations and non-public enforcement activity during a Tuesday panel at IAPP, an industry conference focused on data governance issues, in Washington DC.
