Spyware Maker NSO Sued Over Alleged Hack of Reporters’ iPhones

Spyware maker NSO Group faces a lawsuit brought by 15 journalists for an El Salvador-based digital newspaper who allege their iPhones were illegally hacked in a bid to disrupt their investigative work.

Reporters with the news outlet El Faro filed suit Wednesday in a California federal court, adding to a flurry of legal challenges over NSO’s controversial Pegasus tool that is said to covertly extract information—such as data on communications and location—from mobile phones.
