Southwest Stops Kiwi.com From Scraping Online Flight Information

Southwest Airlines Co. won a preliminary injunction from a federal court in Texas that prevents online booking agent Kiwi.com from selling its tickets.

Kiwi ignored Southwest’s cease and desist requests and continued to scrape Southwest’s flight information from its website and has resold over 20,000 Southwest tickets to consumers at a markup.

Southwest asserted a breach of contract claim against Kiwi, among other claims. It said that when Kiwi purchases a Southwest ticket, it agrees to the terms and conditions on its website, which specifically forbid page scraping.
