SolarWinds Taps Ex-Rep. Dent as Part of Team to Handle Hacking

Software company SolarWinds Corp. has brought on a team of lobbyists, including former Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Pa.), to help manage the fallout from a massive hack that targeted U.S. government agencies and corporations and is linked to a suspected Russian group.

Dent, who left Capitol Hill in 2018 and now lobbies at DLA Piper, is part of a group working to “provide information to Congress regarding the ‘Sunburst’ cyberattack on SolarWinds,” the firm disclosed in forms filed with the Senate. Democratic lobbyist John Merrigan is also among those on the account.
