SolarWinds Hits Back at SEC After Agency’s X Account Was Hacked

SolarWinds Corp. — the software maker that was recently sued by the US Securities and Exchange Commission over an infamous hack that compromised scores of businesses and federal agencies — is wasting no time in pointing out the irony of the hack against the SEC’s account on X.

“This incident underscores how no organization’s security controls can ever be assumed to be perfectly implemented, and why regulators should approach cybersecurity with great care and humility,” Serrin Turner, an attorney at Latham & Watkins who is representing SolarWinds, said in a statement on Thursday.
