Software Firm Slapped With Suit After Driver’s License Breach

An insurance technology provider that experienced the loss of drivers’ personal information earlier this year should be on the hook for the compromise, the plaintiff in a proposed class action in Colorado federal court argued.

Denver-based Vertafore Inc. acted negligently and violated the Driver’s Privacy Protection Act by failing to guard against the threat, plaintiff Conner Masciotra alleged in a complaint Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.
