The deal, valued at $17.6 million by plaintiff Irma Carrera Aguallo’s counsel, would also require Kemper and its subsidiary Infinity Insurance Co. to adopt better security, according to the motion for preliminary approval of the class action settlement filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Attorneys representing Kemper didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
