Senate GOP Rebuffs Plan to Axe Trump Delay of Emission Standards

An Environmental Protection Agency rule to delay tougher standards for methane and other emissions will stand after the Senate blocked a Democratic measure to overturn it.

The chamber voted 46-51 against a motion to proceed to the measure (S. J. Res. 76; BGOV Bill Analysis) from Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) that aimed to use the Congressional Review Act to disapprove of the proposal.
