SelectQuote Beats Wiretapping Suit Over Info Shared With Meta

SelectQuote Insurance Services defeated for now a proposed class action alleging it illegally allowed Meta Platforms Inc. and LeadID LLC to intercept the personal information of consumers seeking insurance quotes without their consent.

The plaintiffs failed to allege facts to support their claims that Facebook and LeadID acquired their information through “interception” as defined in the wiretapping laws of California, Florida, Maryland, and Massachusetts, Judge Ruth Bermudez Montenegro of the US District Court for the Southern District of California said Monday.
