The maker of Eufy home security cameras with facial recognition capabilities is accused in a proposed class action of misleading consumers about keeping their data private and safe.
Security camera maker Anker Innovations allegedly breached a state consumer protection law in Illinois with deceptive marketing on data privacy and security, according to a lawsuit filed Tuesday in a Chicago federal court.
The complaint filed by consumer Trevor Sloan also alleges that Eufy’s cameras violate a state privacy law by failing to gain people’s permission before uploading scans of their faces to the cloud.
