Meta Platforms Inc.'s founder Mark Zuckerberg is the target of a records request lawsuit seeking details of his conversation with the Securities and Exchange Commission before it hit the tech giant with a $100 million fine over the Cambridge Analytica data-harvesting scandal.

Zamaan Qureshi, a college student and advocate for greater accountability at Meta’s social media platform Facebook, sued the SEC in pursuit of a full record documenting its 2019 deposition of the company’s CEO and chairman. The deposition was part of an agency investigation into allegedly misleading disclosures to investors.
