School Service Providers Pledge To Protect Privacy of Student Data

A privacy advocacy group and a technology trade association Oct. 7 announced a pledge that K-12 school service providers can take to protect the privacy of student information.

“The commitments are intended to detail ongoing industry practices that meet and go beyond all federal requirements and to encourage service providers to more clearly articulate these practices to further ensure confidence in how they handle student data,” the Future of Privacy Forum and the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) said in a joint statement.
