Sax LLP was sued by a New York resident who said the tax and advisory firm failed to protect personal information from a data breach that potentially exposed birth dates and Social Security numbers.
Weiqian Liu filed the proposed class action Dec. 26 in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey. The complaint alleges Sax suffered a cybersecurity incident in August 2024 and conducted an investigation that concluded in December 2025, after which it alerted potential victims. According to a notice provided to Maine, more than 225,000 people could’ve been impacted.
