Salem Health Sued Over Health-Info Sharing From Patient Portal

Salem Health Hospitals and Clinics disclosed the health information of patients to Facebook and Google without their consent in violation of state and federal law, a proposed federal class action said.

“M.R.” alleged that Oregon-based Salem Health installed tracking tools on its website and patient portal, allowing the tech giants to collect information about patients’ physicians, appointments, symptoms and medical conditions, prescriptions, treatment options, and payments.
