Robert Bosch Sued After Worker Health Plan Sees Data Breach (1)

A former Robert Bosch LLC employee sued the German technology manufacturer for allegedly failing to protect the personal information of 55,000 current and former workers affected by a data breach of a welfare benefit program.

The Bosch Choice Welfare Benefit Plan gives eligible employees flexibility in selecting health and insurance options, according to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Plaintiff Donald Smith alleged Bosch failed to implement adequate cybersecurity measures to protect employee data stored by the health plan.
