Redfin Sued Over Site’s User Video Data Sent to Meta, Others

Redfin Corp. faces a proposed pixel privacy class action accusing it of violating state and federal law by sharing its real estate website users’ personal and viewing data with Meta Platforms Inc., Alphabet Inc., and others.

Redfin sent subscribers’ personally identifiable information and data on the property video tours they watched to third-party advertisers via tracking technologies embedded on its website without users’ consent, violating the California Invasion of Privacy Act and the federal Video Privacy Protection Act, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of California.
