Quora Says Hack Compromised Data of Around 100M Users

Quora Inc. says it recently discovered that about 100 millon users of its popular question-and-answer website had their data compromised due to “unauthorized access to one of its systems by a malicious third party.”

The company said it’s investigating further and taking appropriate steps to prevent such incidents in the future, accoriding to a post on its blog.

Quora made the discovery Nov. 30 and said it has notified law enforcement officials and retained a digital forensics and security firm to assist.

Users may have had account information, including email addresses and encrypted passwords, compromised, Quora said.
