Prudential Must Face Privacy Claims Over Website User Tracking

Prudential Financial Inc. must face invasion of privacy claims from consumers who sued over software that allegedly gathered information about them from an online platform for life insurance quotes.

Consumers seeking insurance quotes didn’t agree to the software monitoring, a federal judge in the US District Court for the Northern District of California said in a June 9 opinion, letting the privacy claims move forward despite Prudential’s push to drop them.
