Louisiana property manager 1st Lake Properties Inc. would pay $525,000 to settle a lawsuit arising from a 2021 data breach that exposed the information of more than 29,000 of current and former tenants, under a deal given initial approval in federal court.
Class members would be eligible for reimbursement of up to $10,000 for their documented economic losses from the breach or a pro rata cash payment expected to be greater than $50 per claimant, according to the plaintiffs’ motion for preliminary approval of the settlement, filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
