Privacy Claim Trimmed From BJC HealthCare Phishing Attack Suit

BJC HealthCare must face the bulk of claims stemming from a data incident it suffered after an Illinois federal judge found the plaintiffs had standing and had adequately stated their claims.

But an invasion of privacy claim was dismissed because the plaintiffs didn’t allege that the health company acted intentionally, Chief Judge Nancy J. Rosenstengel wrote in an order filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.
