Photo-editing app maker Prisma Labs Inc. convinced a federal judge to toss a proposed class action alleging its AI-powered features violated Illinois’ biometric privacy law.
The plaintiff failed to show a clear link between pictures he uploaded of himself on websites including Facebook and Tinder and Prisma’s failure to comply with the Biometric Information Privacy Act, Judge Jorge Alonso wrote in a Tuesday order granting Prisma’s motion to dismiss in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
