Practice Resources Agrees to $1.5 Million Data-Breach Settlement

Management-service organization Practice Resources LLC would pay $1.5 million to settle a proposed class action alleging it negligently failed to protect the personal information of more than 940,000 people that was exposed in a 2022 data breach, under a proposed deal filed in federal court.

Class members would be eligible to receive up to $5,000 in reimbursement for documented losses arising from the breach, credit-monitoring services and identity theft insurance for three years, or a pro-rata payment from the net settlement fund, according to the plaintiffs’ motion for final approval of the settlement, filed Wednesday in the US District Court ...
