PostMeds Hit With Lawsuit Over Data Breach Affecting 2.4 Million

Digital pharmacy PostMeds Inc. allegedly failed to protect the personal information of nearly 2.4 million people that was exposed in an August data breach, a proposed federal class action said.

Michael Siegel alleged that PostMeds failed to implement reasonable security procedures and practices to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access and disclosure.

Information exposed in the breach included names, medications, demographic information, and physician names, according to a complaint filed Nov. 28 in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
