PNC Bank, US Bank, Wells Fargo Sued Over Online Data Tracking

PNC Bank National Association, US Bank National Association, and Wells Fargo & Co. were hit with separate proposed class actions alleging they disclosed the financial data of website visitors to third parties without consent in violation of California privacy laws.

The plaintiffs alleged in similar complaints that the banks incorporated tracking technologies on their websites, allowing third parties to collect data arising from consumers’ activity there, including URLs identifying their financial circumstances and debt-related research interests.
