Pinterest Sued Over Consumer-Data Tracking on Third-Party Sites

A California man sued Pinterest Inc. for allegedly tracking his internet activity across dozens of websites without consent and using the data to target him with advertising.

Ken Zhu alleged that the social-media company embedded its “Pinterest Tag” and other tracking tools on third-party websites to monitors its users’ online behavior and build detailed marketing profiles of them in violation of federal and state privacy laws.
