Progress Software Corp. and Philips RS North America LLC were accused of inadequate security practices leading to a May 2023 data breach which exposed the personal health information of more than 450,000 individuals.
The breach, which occurred between May 27 and 31, 2023, exposed Philips’ customers’ personal data, including protected health data, according to the complaint filed Friday in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts. The provider didn’t notify affected individuals until Feb. 26, 2024, the filing said.
