A California patient reached a settlement with his health care provider and its IT vendor in a proposed class action stemming from a 2020 ransomware attack.
Parties asked a federal judge to pause proceedings in a Feb. 7 notice of settlement and motion to stay filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of California. They told the judge they reached a settlement in principle on Jan. 29 and are in the process of drafting the settlement agreement.
They said they expect the suit to be dismissed within the next 180 days.
