Paramount Hit With Child Privacy Suit Over Pluto Video Streaming

Paramount Skydance Corp. and its video streaming subsidiary Pluto Inc. unlawfully disclosed the personally identifiable information of children viewers to Google and Microsoft, according to a proposed class action.

Five parents filed a complaint Tuesday in US District Court for the Central District of California, claiming that the defendants installed tracking tools from Google and Microsoft that captured and transmitted their children’s private data in exchange for advertising and analytics services without obtaining parental consent.

The alleged data disclosure included the specific videos the plaintiffs’ minor children watched, the complaint said.
