Oracle Health Defeats Patients’ Suit Over Google Data Sharing

Oracle Health, a developer of medical-system patient portals, defeated a proposed class action alleging it shared patients’ personal health information with Google LLC in violation of state and federal privacy laws.

Plaintiffs Gary Whitby and Jeremy Paquette didn’t show they suffered a concrete injury sufficient for standing to bring their statutory claims, and failed to adequately plead their claims of invasion of privacy and unjust enrichment, Judge Beth Phillips of the US District Court for the Western District of Missouri said Monday.
