A trio of health-related companies violated the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and infringed patents by illegally scraping MDSave Inc.'s data and technology, the health-care e-commerce company is arguing in Texas federal court.
Defendants Sesame Inc., Tripment Inc., and Green Imaging LLC acted together and separately to scrape MDSave’s website for protected data, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.
Sesame and Tripment falsely represented that they had direct contractual relationships with MDSave’s providers and “wholesale copied” data, the Brentwood, Tenn.-based company alleged.
