Oklahoma House OKs Privacy Bill With Lower Monetary Revenue (1)

Oklahoma’s House of Representatives passed a consumer data privacy bill with a monetary threshold for covered businesses that is lower than ones set in other jurisdictions, but whether it can garner Senate approval remains unclear.

The Oklahoma Computer Data Privacy Act (H.B. 2969) was approved 74-15 on Wednesday. If enacted, it would go further than laws on the books in California, Colorado, and Virginia by requiring consumers to opt into the sale of their personal information.
