Nuance Communications Beats Ex-Worker’s Defamation, Privacy Suit

Nuance Communications Inc. defeated a suit brought by a former employee who claimed that it provided false information about him to the FBI in retaliation for identifying a cybersecurity weakness in the company’s computer system, a federal court in Florida said.

A year after plaintiff Marc Stolowitz was terminated from the artificial intelligence software company as part of a reduction in force, he downloaded the medical records of 45,000 patients of the company’s client health-care providers by using what he said were publicly available URLs.
