New York-based Northwell Health Inc. allegedly failed to protect the personal health information of millions of patients that was exposed in an April data breach suffered by Perry Johnson & Associates Inc., its medical-transcription provider, a lawsuit says.
The suit is one of at least nine proposed class actions to have been filed over the incident in federal court in New York since Nov. 10. Five more have been filed in the US District Court for the District of Nevada, where Perry Johnson is headquartered, and two in state court in New York.
