California-based NorthBay Healthcare Corp. failed to protect the medical and biometric information of more than 500,000 people ahead of a 2024 data breach, then waited almost a year to notify them, a proposed class action said.
NorthBay Health didn’t implement sufficient security measures, didn’t give customers prompt notice of the incident, and concealed the existence of the breach for “an unreasonable duration of time,” according to the complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
