Nike Website Software ‘Wiretaps’ Users, Privacy Lawsuit Alleges

Nike Inc. is accused in a federal lawsuit of wiretapping visitors to its e-commerce site through software that records keystrokes and mouse clicks.

Nike and software vendor FullStory Inc. allegedly violated the California Invasion of Privacy Act and state constitution privacy protections, according to the proposed class action filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

Glendale, Calif., resident Burhaan Saleh claims the two companies picked up shoppers’ personally identifiable information through a tool known as “session replay.” The software provides a real-time recording of user activities on a website, his complaint alleges.
