Texas-based insurer New Era Enterprises Inc. is facing three proposed federal class actions alleging it negligently failed to protect the personal information of thousands of people that was exposed in a December 2024 data breach.
Maria Sanchez, Ebony Midcalf, and Steven Stapp alleged in separate lawsuits that New Era breached its duties under common law, contract law, industry standards, and the Federal Trade Commission Act to provide reasonable and adequate data-security measures and provide timely notice of the incident.
