Netgain Technology Escapes Suit Over Data Breach of Medical Info

Netgain Technology avoided claims stemming from a 2020 data breach of its servers, after a California federal judge ruled that the court lacked personal jurisdiction over the Minnesota company.

Gerald Lee filed a class complaint after learning that his sensitive personal and medical information at his community health center, CareSouth Carolina, was compromised as a result of the data breach at Netgain, a cloud hosting service for health-care and accounting organizations.

But Lee is from South Carolina, and the claims arose from a data breach of a Minnesota company.
