Nestle Chided Over Lack of Transparency in Perrier Filtering

An organization that helps Swiss pension funds invest responsibly accused Nestlé SA of a lack of transparency over the illegal treatments it had used on water that went into its French brand Perrier.

The Ethos Foundation said at the annual general meeting of the world’s largest food company on Wednesday that Nestlé should have been more upfront about its use of prohibited filtering methods for natural mineral waters. The processes that led to investigations and fines weren’t detailed in the annual report, the organization said.
