Neiman Marcus Hit With Customer Suit Over Snowflake Data Breach

Neiman Marcus Group LLC failed to protect the personal information of about 31 million customers that was exposed in a May data breach suffered by its cloud-services provider Snowflake Inc., a proposed federal class action said.

Marc Reichbart alleged that Neiman Marcus and Snowflake, a co-defendant in the lawsuit, breached their duties to use reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect sensitive data, and failed to comply with industry standards or the data-security requirements of the Federal Trade Commission Act.
