NBA Asks Second Cir. to Reject Suit Over Facebook Info Sharing

A lower court properly dismissed a lawsuit alleging the NBA violated the video privacy rights of website visitors by sharing their personal information with Meta Platforms Inc., the league told a federal appeals court.

Plaintiff Michael Salazar alleged that the NBA installed the Facebook “pixel” on its website and allowed the social media giant to collect information about the videos viewed by visitors, in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act.
