Morley Cos. got final court approval to pay $4.3 million to resolve allegations that it negligently failed to protect the personal information of nearly 695,000 current and former customers and employees that was exposed in an August 2021 ransomware attack and data breach.
Fifteen named plaintiffs alleged in the consolidated lawsuit that the business services company maintained its computer network in a reckless manner that left their information vulnerable to a cyberattack, failed to train its employees in data-security practices, and failed to properly monitor its network.
