Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.) introduced a resolution on June 1 urging Congress to take action on climate change. The resolution calls for Congress to quickly pass legislation that would support reduced energy consumption, a shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources, carbon capture and storage projects, and research into existing climate change impacts. U.S. energy, environmental, and foreign policies “should reflect appropriate understanding and sensitivity concerning issues related to climate change,” the resolution states.
