Mondelēz Workers Sue for Negligence After Bryan Cave Cyberattack

Current and former employees of Mondelez Global LLC brought two proposed class actions against the company alleging negligence and breach of contract after a data breach exposed their personal information.

Mondelēz, which makes snack foods including Oreo cookies and Ritz crackers, said more than 50,000 employees were affected by the cyberattack against law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner earlier this year. A notice Mondelēz sent to affected employees said hackers had access to employee dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and home addresses.
