Mississippi AG Pushes Back on Block of Kids’ Social Media Law

The Mississippi attorney general filed a notice of appeal over the state’s new children’s social media law pending a ruling on its request to stay the injunction a federal judge issued this week blocking its enforcement.

Attorney General Lynn Fitch on July 3 filed both the notice and the motion seeking to stay the July 1 order granting tech industry group NetChoice LLC’s preliminary injunction request. Fitch asked the court to rule on the stay by July 17, after which she will file an appeal to the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
