Microsoft Wins Takedown Court Order for Phony Account Seller (1)

Microsoft Corp. successfully banned a Vietnamese cybercrime group known as Storm-1152 from creating and selling fraudulent Microsoft accounts used to attack the company’s customers around the world, according to a temporary restraining order unsealed Wednesday.

Storm-1152 likely violated laws including trademark infringement and the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, used to prosecute organized crime, the order filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said.
