Meta to Appeal Order Allowing FTC to Amend 2020 Privacy Pact

Meta Platforms Inc. said it plans to appeal a district court decision rejecting its attempt to block the Federal Trade Commission from modifying a 2020 settlement with the agency that required the company to update its privacy practices.

US District Judge Timothy Kelly ruled on Monday that the court did not have jurisdiction over the FTC’s ammendment to the 2020 privacy settlement with Meta, which owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Meta said Tuesday in a court filing that it would appeal Kelly’s decision to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia.
