Meta Platforms Inc. moved a lawsuit filed by New Mexico’s attorney general, alleging Facebook and Instagram connect children with sex predators, from state court to a New Mexico federal court.
Meta argued that the AG’s sweeping lawsuit ultimately hinges on claims in violation of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, a two-decade-old federal law, according to the filing in the US District Court for the District of New Mexico
The suit was original filed on Dec. 5 in the First Judicial District Court in the County of Santa Fe.
