Meta, Luxottica Again Sued Over AI Smart Glasses Video Sharing

Meta Platforms Inc. and Luxottica of America Inc. were hit with a proposed class action alleging the companies secretly disclose videos taken by users with their AI-enabled smart glasses to third party contractors in violation of federal and state wiretapping laws.

Peter Canady filed the proposed class action Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, alleging that Meta promises users that they have control of the videos the glasses create, but in reality they’re sent for review to contract workers in Kenya without users’ knowledge or consent.
