Meta Lawsuit Over Data Collection Likely Faces Trimming

Meta Platforms Inc. has tentatively convinced a federal judge to toss parts of a lawsuit claiming the Facebook tracking tool Pixel illegally intercepts users’ and patients’ medical information.

Judge William Orrick III of the US District Court for the Northern District of California gave attorneys for users and the platform an hour Wednesday to argue about his tentative decision, dismissing with an opportunity to amend claims the company violates users’ privacy.
